Description:

Thousands of fragments have been picked up around the 13 craters in north-central Australia marking the site where this meteorite broke apart and landed thousands of years ago.

Well over a thousand kilos has been found, they are cute, rust-resistant and still show some of the red earth of Australia.  And they are very affordable.  But most of the larger masses are now safely in museums, so the choice is rather limited for collectors who like relatively lage specimens.

This is one of those rare ones, and a friendly one who appears to be waving to its admirers. About 86mm tall, 63mm at the widest point.

Legally exported from Australia.
