History: a total of 4 stones were found within a couple miles of Belle Plaine, Kansa. The first one was found in 1950, the last one in 1981. The total weight of all 4 stones is 96.4 kilos. Oscar Monni purchased the first two and they are now in the Monnig Collection at TCU. One has been kept intact and will never be cut, Dr. Ehlmann authorized the other one to be cut as a fund-raiser, and here is a full slice from that second mass. However we are getting to the end of that mass, there is still a nice end-cut, but no decision has been made yet as to cutting any more.
Classification: Chondrite L6, with dark matrix, and bright metal flakes.
